Val Therese
Val Therese is the Northern most part of the Town of Valley East community. It is roughly an 18 minute drive to New Sudbury and a 22 minute drive to Chelmsford. There is a lovely built-up community that includes the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre along with other amenities and business. Other Highlights include Wagon Wheel Ranch, the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre, St-Germain Museum as well as numerous parks and playgrounds.
Hanmer
Hanmer is located right beside Val Therese on the East hand side. It is a very quiet residential and agricultural community. Highlights include the Hanmer Skate Park and the Centennial Arena. Quick access to ATV and snowmobile trails make this a rural community with access to several lakes worth fishing as well.
Val Caron
Val Caron is beside Bleazed Valley on the East Side and Old Hwy 69 (Regional Road 80) runs through the community. It is also an approx. 12 minute drive to New Sudbury, making it an attractive area to live for those wanting more of a peaceful environment but still having the “City” close by. Highlights here include Whitson Lake, the Val Caron Golf & Country Club, Monte Vista Golf Club and the Kalmo Park Conservation Area.
Mcrea Heights
Mcrea Heights is North of New Sudbury and South of Val Caron. It can be described as a peaceful, quiet community within minutes to a lot of other communities and amenities. Old Hwy 69 (Regional Road 80) runs through it and it has the Large Whitson Lake to the East of it as well as McCrea Lake.
Blezard Valley
For those enjoying “crop to table” Blezard Valley may be the butter to your mashed potatoes. It has agricultural as well as developed areas and offers a lot of fresh food and agricultural options with places like Triple Star Acre Farm, Josephines Vegetables & Mini Putt, Family Roots Farm, Valley Farm & Feed Depot, Valley Growers, Valley Orchard, Valley Nursery Sod Inc. and Family Roots Farm. Some other fun things in the area include Langdon Park, the Valley East Kin Park and GymZone Gymnastics & Athletics.
Capreol
Capreol is a great quant peaceful community just West of Lake Wahnapitae and North of Valley East and Hanmer. It is situated on the Vermillion River and highlights include The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum & Heritage Centre, Capreol Cross-Country Ski Club, The Capreol Arena complete with the Capreol Cricket Ground, a curling club, public school, Green Lake Rapids and Capreol Lake Rd. that leads to Ella Lake Park where there is a nice beach and playground to explore.
